CLI A Command Line Interpreter or Command Line Interface is a way to interact with a computer by entering text-based commands in a shell or terminal. Command Line applications can be interactive or non-interactive.
ChromeOS ESR The ChromeOS Extended Support Release program will allow for select ChromeOS devices to recieve additional core operating system updates for a period of time after the device has been deprecated. This allows owners of these devices to securely use their machines for a few additional years for basic web browsing. If a device is enrolled in the ESR program, it will not get any new features aside from core security updates, and it will lose the ability to run Android applications.  ChromeOS ESR
ChromeOS LTS While ChromeOS is generally a stable operating system, it is not unheard of to have releases with bugs or stability issues. ChromeOS Long Term Support releases are builds of ChromeOS that focus on stability instead of new features. LTS builds generally lag several versions behind the latest stable release of ChromeOS and updates to LTS builds are often seen as minor iterations to the older release. It is important to note that consumer devices cannot be enrolled into LTS releases of ChromeOS, it is only an option for devices enrolled in Google's Chromebook Enterprise or Educational System.
Lacros Browser The Lacros Browser (Linux And ChRome OS) was an experiment from Google to decouple the Chrome Web Browser from ChromeOS, allowing Google to update the browser independently of the core operating system. On July 12th, 2024, Google announced their intent to discontinue Lacros development efforts and plans to fully remove it in ChromeOS M128.
