ChromeOS can be customized to suit your personal tastes and to allow you to express yourself. This section includes several of the ways that you can change the way your devices's interface looks.

You can easily change the wallpaper on your desktop by right-clicking on the ChromeOS desktop or the ChromeOS System Tray and choosing "Select Wallpaper". This will bring up the ChromeOS Wallpaper Chooser. The ChromeOS Wallpaper Chooser has a selection of curated backgrounds that will look great on your device regardless of screen resolution. You will see your personal photos that have been saved to your device under "My Images".

Changing the ChromeOS Shelf Location or Hiding the Shelf

By default, the ChromeOS Shelf is located at the bottom of your screen; however, you may change this behavior by right-clicking on the ChromeOS Shelf or the ChromeOS Desktop and selecting "Shelf Position". You can relocate it to the Left or Right of your screen.

If you wish to hide the ChromeOS Shelf when not in use to maximize screen real-estate, you can do this by right-clicking on the ChromeOS Shelf and selecting "Autohide Shelf", this will hide the shelf when not active use, you can see the shelf by moving your mouse to the bottom of the display.

Installing Themes

Browsing and installing themes is effortless on ChromeOS. Simply open Chrome and navigate to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/. Select "Themes" and you can browse through thousands of Google supplied and community developed themes. All themes are free of cost. Once you locate a theme that fits your personal preferences, select "Add to Chrome" and the theme will automatically be downloaded and installed.

Chrome Themes are saved into your Google Profile and will automatically be downloaded and installed on all desktop Google Chrome Browsers that you are logged into, even on other platforms like MacOS, Windows and Linux.
