Google Drive

Google Drive is Google's cloud storage service that also acts as the entry-point for Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides. All accounts are given 15 GB of storage at no cost, your storage quote includes Google Drive, Google Photos, GMail and those used by Google Docs/Sheets/Slides. Paid subscription options are available for those who wish to have more storage space, occasionally Google also offers promotions to those who purchase a new ChromeOS device that includes additional free Google Drive storage for a specified period of time, normally a year from the date of redemption.

Accessing Google Drive Via The Web

You can access Google Drive by visiting https://drive.google.com in the Chrome Web Browser. Your browser will automatically log you into your Google Drive account and present you with a list of your files.

You can install the Google Drive Android Application from the Google Play Store if needed. On a ChromeOS device, it is generally recommended that users not install the Android version of Google Drive and use the ChromeOS File Manager.

ChromeOS has deep integration with Google Drive and will automatically list your Google Drive in your ChromeOS File Manager. All the contents in the Google Drive mount will automatically be synchronized with your Google Drive account when you are connected to the internet. You can also mark any file for offline access if you wish for the file to always be accessible, even when offline, at the cost of using additional storage on your {MODEL}.

Google Docs

Google Docs is Google's document editing tool that can be either used in the Chrome web browser or via the Google Docs Android Application that can be installed from the Google Play Store. Google Docs will support all major document formats, including those used by other document editors such as Microsoft Word. Google Docs can work offline to allow viewing and editing content while you are without an internet connection, as long as the file you wish to access is saved to your local storage.
