USB-C Docking Stations

Docking Stations are ideal when you are using your device for productivity tasks by allowing you to connect to a larger display or span multiple displays while also being able to leverage a full-size keyboard and mouse at the cost of a reduction in mobility as you will be tied to your desk.

If ChromeOS Device is equipped with a USB-C port and can use a USB-C based docking station that can be used to connect your device to an external display and even use a wired Keyboard or Mouse. Many USB-C docking stations also support Ethernet ports, card readers, audio input/output and USB-A ports. It is strongly advised to get a USB-C based docking station that supports USB-C Pass-through Power to keep your device charged when you have it connected.

USB-C Docking Stations that have HDMI or DisplayPort Outputs can be used to display "Secure Content" such as secured Android Applications; examples include: streaming media applications, banking applications and password managers. If you need to display secure content, you must ensure your display is connected via an interface that supports secure video communication, such as an HDMI port or DisplayPort. Adapters that convert to DVI or SVGA will not be able to display secure content, replacing it with a black box.
