ChromeOS Mouse and Touchpad Accessibility Features

A touchpad or mouse is the most common way many users choose to use as their primary way of navigating their device, however to some, this is not a option due to sight or dexterity issues. ChromeOS has several tools built in to assist with those who need additional support.

Automatically click when the cursor stops

Users who struggle with dexterity, specifically in the fingers, can toggle the ability for ChromeOS to automatically press the primary mouse button when you pause moving the mouse over an active area for a few seconds.

Show Large Mouse Cursor

This option will enable an exaggerated size mouse cursor to assist in visibility for those who may struggle to see the smaller default mouse cursor.

Cursor color

By default, ChromeOS uses a black cursor for all mouse movements. However, for aesthetic reasons, or to assist with those who need to vary the color to assist with visibility, ChromeOS allows users to change the color of their mouse cursor using a set of pre-defined colors.

Highlight the mouse cursor when it's moving

This option will draw a red circle around the mouse cursor to assist users with seeing where the mouse is currently moving.

Open the Mouse and Touchpad device settings

This is a shortcut to the Mouse and Touchpad settings are on the ChromeOS control panel.

Show navigation buttons
