ChromeOS Keyboards
Although many ChromeOS devices support touch-screens, a keyboard still remains the primary way that most ChromeOS users interact with their devices. All ChromeOS Devices will work well with all standard Bluetooth and USB keyboards, even if the Keyboard was specifically built to target another operating system (MacOS/Windows/iOS/Android).
Purpose Built ChromeOS Keyboards
There are several manufacturers that release keyboards that were specifically built for ChromeOS. These keyboards have several advantages over keyboards manufactured for other platforms, as they contain all the specialty keys that ChromeOS was built around.
Generic Bluetooth Keyboards
ChromeOS will work with most Bluetooth keyboards, even if designed for other platforms such as Windows or MacOS. If the keyboard has a "mode" option to choose between Windows or MacOS, you should put the keyboard to Windows. Simply refer to the manufacturers instructions to place the Keyboard into "Pairing Mode" and connect to your Keyboard from the ChromeOS Bluetooth Settings Menu.
Generic USB Keyboards
ChromeOS will work with most generic USB Keyboards, regardless of the platform the keyboard was designed to target. There is no need to perform any special configurations, simply connect the keyboard via USB to the ChromeOS Device, and it should be ready for use immediately.
Speciality Keyboards
There are several specialty Keyboards with accessibility features designed to help people who may suffer from vision or mobility issues. ChromeOS does work with most of these keyboards, please refer to the ChromeOS Accessibility Settings for more information on how these keyboards are used on ChromeOS.
