Google Services

ChromeOS is tightly integrated into the Google Ecosystem and was designed from the ground up to work flawlessly with Google's services. All ChromeOS users will need a Google Account or a G-Suite Account issued by a school or employer. This account is used to securely synchronize your settings and data to the Google cloud.

This deep integration extends into the ChromeOS File Manager, which automatically mounts your Google Drive as a directory for you to save data onto Google's cloud storage back-end. Select ChromeOS devices have deep Google Assistant integration to allow you to perform various actions on your device and even interact with third-party services.

The Google Ecosystem can also add device management features to your Chromebook that can be used in homes, schools and enterprises for a low monthly subscription Home users can use the Google Family Link product to manage and control devices for children. G-Suite for Education is Google's offering for Schools to allow administrators to manage users and features for schools. Google's G-Suite product is used for enterprises to manage and control the devices. All three of these management systems have some features in common, but also differ in several ways.
