Google Play Store

The Google Play Store is the largest collection of mobile applications on the planet. The Google Play Store includes countless free and paid applications, and many of them will scale in a way that allows them to feel like a native application on your ChromeOS Device. Using the Google Play Store, you can download and buy applications, games, books, movies, television shows and audiobooks. If you currently use an Android Phone, and are logged into your ChromeOS Device, you will have access to your existing purchases on your ChromeOS Device without the need to purchase the application for a second time.

You can access the Google Play Store from the ChromeOS Application Launcher by searching for "Play Store", this is installed by default on most ChromeOS devices.

It is strongly advised to use the Android version of applications when possible, specifically around streaming media applications, as many of these applications will allow you to download media offline as long as you have available space on your device to store the downloads. Some of these applications include Amazon Prime, Plex, Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube Premium.

If you are using a device supplied by a school or employer, they may place restrictions on what applications are available to download and use on the device.
